The Bordered Letters

This is a neat way to easily put borders on the letters of the title pic's on your pages. Start with a blank Image 400 pixels wide and 100 pixels high. Click the text tool and type in the name of the title and using the size of the letters so the whole title fits in. I used black for the foreground color and a green color for the background color. By the way always click in the center of the image with the curser so the letters will be close to where you want them. I also try to use letters that are NOT real skinny.

Then leaving the letters floating, click on Selections at the top, move to Modify and click on Feather. Set Feather to 5 pixels and click OK. Then while letters are still floating go up and click Edit, and then Clear.

The foreground color becomes the edge color and the background color becomes the inside color. then just right click the letters to lock them in place. If you want more, then before you lock them in use a filter on the letters. I used the EyeCandy Carve filter here.  Whoa, getting fancy here arent we.

Think that the EyeCandy filter does the same thing? Well Here it is WITHOUT the feather, and the Edit/Clear done to it. Just doesnt have the pizazz, does it!

Try different combinations of colors and filters for the effects you like. I would write down the process of what you did on the first image. then you can do a theme for a page with different sizes of words and even lines or dingbats for a page.
